Free Bill Check: Terms

Effective date: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}. Offered by {{LEGAL_ENTITY}} d/b/a Haltr ("Haltr", "we").

Short version: send us your last 3 months of bill exports. We check them and send you a report in about {{REPORT_TURNAROUND: 2 business days}}. It's free. Nothing is paid, changed or shared. We delete your files within 10 business days.

1. What you send

  • The last 3 months of bill or invoice exports from your property-management or accounting software (for example, a CSV or PDF report of bills paid). Three months lets us compare prices with what each vendor usually charges.
  • Files, not logins. We never ask for passwords or access to your bank or software. Don't send them.
  • Please don't send Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, card numbers, bank statements with full account numbers, tenant screening reports or health information. If any arrive, we delete them at import.

By uploading, you confirm that you work for the firm the files belong to, that you are at least 18, and that your firm allows you to share these files with a service provider for this purpose.

2. What we do with them

  • We use your files only to run this check and write your report.
  • We do not sell, share or publish your files or results. We do not use them to train AI.
  • We do not contact your vendors, owners or renters.

3. How long we keep them

  • Files: deleted within 10 business days after we send the report, sooner if you ask.
  • The report: we keep a copy for {{FREE_CHECK_REPORT_RETENTION: 12 months}} so we can talk it through with you. Ask and we'll delete it.
  • Until deleted, files are kept in a private, encrypted location that only Haltr staff can access.

4. What the report is (and isn't)

  • The report lists possible issues, such as duplicate bills, overcharges against your records, or risky bank-detail changes.
  • It is a check, not an audit, and not accounting, tax or legal advice. It reads only the files you sent. It can miss things and can be wrong.
  • Please confirm each item with the vendor or your records before acting. If a report flags a bank-detail change, verify it by phoning a number you already have on file, never one in an email.

5. Price

The check is free. You don't have to buy anything, and there is no obligation. {{GUARANTEE_LINE: "If the check finds nothing worth fixing, you owe nothing." — see MSA §7.3 for the definition; keep the two documents in sync.}}

After the report, we may email you once or twice about it. You can say no or unsubscribe at any time.

6. Limits

We provide the check "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability for the free check is limited to $100, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability for our fraud or gross negligence, or a breach of our confidentiality and deletion promises above.

7. Other terms

Our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply. Texas law governs. Questions: {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.
