Haltr Website Terms of Use
Effective date: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}
Who we are: {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}, doing business as "Haltr" ("Haltr", "we", "us"). {{ADDRESS}}. Contact: {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} ([email protected]).
These terms cover your use of the website at haltr.co and its pages (the "Site"). They do not cover the paid Haltr service. A firm that signs up uses the service under a separate written agreement (our Master Services Agreement). If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement wins.
1. Who the Site is for
The Site is for people who work in or with residential property-management businesses. It is not meant for children. You must be at least 18 to send us a request, upload a file, or book a call.
If you use the Site for a company, you confirm you are allowed to act for that company.
2. What you may do
You may read the Site, send us an application to book a call, and send files for a free bill check.
You may not:
- break into, overload, scan, or test the Site for weaknesses, except as allowed in our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (haltr.co/security/disclosure);
- scrape or copy the Site in bulk, or use bots to fill in our forms;
- send files you are not allowed to share, or files with malware;
- send Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, card numbers, passwords, or tenant screening reports (see section 4);
- pretend to be someone else, or use the Site to break any law.
3. Our content
We own the Site's text, design and logos, or have permission to use them. You may share links and short quotes. You may not copy the Site to build a competing product or pass it off as yours.
"Haltr" and our logo are our brand names. {{TRADEMARK_STATUS: not registered — do not use ® until registered}}
4. Files you send us (free bill check)
The free bill check has its own short terms: see Free Check Terms (haltr.co/free-check-terms). In short:
- Send only files your firm is allowed to share with a service provider.
- Do not send passwords or logins. Haltr asks for files, not logins.
- Do not send Social Security numbers. If one arrives, we delete it at import.
- We delete free-check files within 10 business days, sooner if you ask.
You keep ownership of your files. You give us permission to use them only to run the check and report back to you.
5. Phone calls and texts
If you give us a mobile number and tick the consent box, we may text you about the meeting you booked. We do not use it for marketing texts. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See SMS Terms (haltr.co/sms-terms).
Our sales calls may be recorded. We say so at the start of the call.
6. No advice; no guarantee of results
The Site gives general information about our service. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or real-estate advice. Haltr is not a law firm, an accounting firm, or a real-estate broker.
Examples, savings estimates and sample reports show what can happen. They do not promise what will happen for your firm.
7. Links to other sites
We may link to other sites, such as Google Calendar for booking. We do not control them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
8. Disclaimer
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We do not promise the Site will always be available or error-free.
9. Limit on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim about the Site (not the paid service) is limited to $100.
Some laws do not allow these limits. If so, they apply only as far as the law allows.
10. Your responsibility
If you break these terms or misuse the Site (for example, by uploading files you were not allowed to share), you agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims by others caused by that misuse.
11. Texas law; where disputes go
Texas law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any lawsuit about the Site goes to the state or federal courts in {{COUNTY}} County, Texas. Either side may use small-claims court if the claim qualifies.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the "Effective date" above. Changes apply from that date. If you keep using the Site, the new terms apply.
